ABOUT GRAMODAYA BANDHU MITRA PURASKAR

GCOT has instituted the “Gramodaya Bandhu Mitra Puraskar” to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and is recognizing 150 Individuals / Institutions globally, working on Gandhian perspective of Agriculture, Rural Development, and self-contained villages.

Gramodaya Bandhu Mitra Puraskar is being presented as a recognition to the stalwarts ushering in a silent revolution and working towards accomplishing the goal of Gram Swaraj endeared by the Mahatma Gandhi. With these awards, GCOT is paying tribute to the father of the nation and the ideals he represented, which are so truly relevant even today, on his 150th Birth Anniversary

ABOUT 150th MAHATMA GANDHI JAYANTHI UTSAV

In view of the prevailing Covid situation, GCOT is organising an ONLINE / VIRTUAL EVENT from 1st to 3rd October from 4 PM to 8 PM. The event agenda includes:

All the Awardees of the Gramodaya Bandhu Mitra Puraskar are invited to join the meeting. After the formal inaugural of the event, some of the prominent awardees shall talk and a brief mind share is expected about the phenomenal work that each one of them is doing and also the potential to collaborate and synergise on some areas of work.

On this occasion, GCOT will be releasing a Global Declaration with the motto "Re-Imagining India for New Global Order" to reiterate India's wisdom for global evolution in the wake of the Corona crisis.

Launch of technology platform for preparing Village Monographs

During the last 74 years of independent India, Village Monographs have not been profiled for the six lakhs plus villages in the country. GCOT has developed a technology platform to enable the village monograph project and the same shall be launched at the upcoming award celebrations. This technology enables decentralized mode of collection of over 200 parameters, which includes qualitative and quantitative data, for each village and tries to link the specifics of the respective villages with the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP).
